SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (January 8, 2019) – Following a span where he combined for ten 3-pointers to guide the Broncos to a pair of wins, guard William Knight (Valley Stream, NY / Valley Stream South) was named the ACAA Men's Basketball Player of the Week. It marked the junior's second career ACAA weekly honor, and first this season.
The Valley Stream, NY native began his week making a game-high four 3-pointers on his way to 18 points to help Delhi beat MCLA, 86-62, on New Year's Eve. He finished as the team's third-leading scorer behind a pair of 20-point performances from Payton Dean (23 pts.) and Jordan Fragale (21 pts.). Knight followed up on Thursday with arguably his strongest performance of the season, tallying 22 points and making six of Delhi's year-best 20 30-pointers as the team posted their highest-scoring game of the year to defeat Penn College Tech, 110-72. Knight, who also had six assists, was complemented from behind the arc by backcourt mate Carlos Ithier, who hit seven triples on his way to 23 points.
More recently, Knight made a pair of 3-pointers for eight points, along with five assists, to help the Broncos on Monday to an 86-80 win over Northern Vermont Lyndon for Delhi's third straight victory. The men look to keep it going on Friday, when they welcome Maine Fort Kent to Floyd L. Maines Arena at 1:00 p.m.
