DELHI, N.Y. (June 11, 2018) – SUNY Delhi Director of Athletics Bob Backus has announced the hiring of Mike Burud as the college's new men's and women's swimming and diving head coach beginning with the 2018-19 season. A four-year swimmer and 2014 graduate of St. Bonaventure University, Burud comes to Delhi after spending the last four years as an assistant coach at Marist College. "With our recent acceptance into the AMCC, this is an exciting new chapter for our swimming program, and we welcome Coach Burud to SUNY Delhi to guide the Broncos," said Backus. "I'm confident that he will utilize his diverse swimming background to lead our swimmers and divers for success over the next several years as we plunge into the NCAA!"
About Mike Burud:

I hope to start things off by laying an excellent foundation for swimmers to come and excel in the classroom as well as the pool. A huge thank you to Bob Backus and the search committee for selecting me to lead the team heading into its first year with the NCAA. Go Broncos!"
