Ten Broncos Recognized USCAA National All-Academic

DELHI, N.Y. (June 7, 2018) – A total of ten outdoor track and field athletes were recognized to the USCAA Spring Sports National All-Academic Team. This national honor from the USCAA recognizes student-athletes who have averaged at least a 3.50 GPA through 24 or more credits in sports outside of the USCAA's offerings. The Broncos honored were as follows:

Connor Adkins (Allendale, NJ / Northern Highlands) – Sophomore, Construction Technology, 3.88 GPA

Nicholas Arnecke (Edmeston, NY / Edmeston) – Junior, Hospitality Management, 3.98 GPA

James Blough (Elka Park, NY / Mount Academy) – Sophomore, Construction Management, 3.63 GPA

Tristen Bowker (Walton, NY / Delaware Academy) – Junior, Hospitality Management, 3.91 GPA

Ashley Magnifico (Bayport, NY / Bayport-Blue Point) – Sophomore, Accounting, 3.88 GPA

Jon Messler (Washingtonville, NY / Washingtonville) – Sophomore, Criminal Justice, 3.60 GPA

Arielle Moheimani (Homer, NY / Homer) – Freshman, Mechatronics Design, 3.81 GPA

Jewel Pignetti (New Windsor, NY / Cornwall Central) – Freshman, Mechatronics Design, 3.64 GPA

Jaylynn Sheppard (Queens, NY / HS for CTEA) – Freshman, Mechatronics Design, 3.78 GPA

Cheyenne Weaver (Andes, NY / Andes) – Sophomore, Criminal Justice, 3.91 GPA

Head coach Robb Munro's team hosted and won the USCAA National Invitational on April 28 on both the men's and women's side. It marked the men's third straight invitational win, where they tallied 245 points with 14 event victories, while the women won their second straight, gathering 199 points with eight event wins.  

Adkins finished first at USCAA's in the 4x100 with teammates Ian Luhmann, Tyler Magnan and Gilbert Boateng. Magnifico, Moheimani and Sheppard won the same event on the women's side with Erica Cornmire. Messler won the 3,000-meter steeplechase, while Weaver finished first in the shot put.

Adkins, Arnecke, Magnifico, Messler and Weaver were also recently recognized to the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Spring All-Academic Team. Delhi won ten events at the NAC Championships on April 29.
