DELHI, N.Y. — SUNY Delhi Athletics announced the hiring of Daniel Myers as an athletic trainer. Myers joins the Broncos after spending the past academic year at Amherst College and will begin his duties this fall.

Myers brings six years of collegiate athletic training experience across NCAA Division II and III programs. At Amherst, he built injury plans and rehabilitation programs for student-athletes, guided return-to-sport testing, and coordinated with health center physicians on referrals. He also continues to serve as a per diem athletic trainer with Premier Sports Medicine, providing immediate injury care at tournament events.

Prior to Amherst, Myers held assistant athletic trainer positions at Lincoln Memorial University, Washington College, and Geneva College, where his sport coverage included soccer, basketball, lacrosse, baseball, softball, rowing, and track and field. He began his career as an intern athletic trainer at Catawba College.

"I am very excited to start working at SUNY Delhi and contribute to the sports medicine team," Myers said. "I am grateful to the athletic department, Robb (Munro, director of athletics), and Yanira (Dawson, assistant athletic director, head athletic trainer and senior woman administrator) for the opportunity to join the SUNY Delhi Athletic Department as an athletic trainer. I'm excited for the opportunity to work with the student-athletes and coaches in a community and department that values growth, student well-being and wanting to compete. I hope to bring a collaborative mindset and a commitment to provide quality care to the student-athletes we serve."

Myers earned his bachelor's degree in athletic training from Messiah College in 2018 and completed his master's in intercollegiate athletic leadership at Messiah University in 2024. He is BOC certified and holds certifications in Functional Movement Screening (FMS) and instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), along with CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
