Dave Arehart works his 22nd year with the SUNY Delhi golf team and General Manager of The College Golf Course for the 2019-20 season. As SUNY Delhi Athletics’ longest-tenured active coach, Arehart has maintained a standard of excellence for Broncos golf since his arrival in April of 1998. He has been at the helm of the men’s golf program throughout his entire run at Delhi, and enters his second year also heading the women’s golf team, as both programs continue their transition to NCAA Division III.

In the Broncos' first official NCAA season in 2018-19, Arehart was named the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Men's Golf Coach of the Year after sophomore Danny Christy won the NAC Individual Championship and the team finished second. The men and women also turned in a successful showing at the USCAA National Championships, where Alison Agoglia won the women's individual title and the men's squad placed second.

Arehart’s men’s teams have secured many indelible marks over the years. But nothing could compare arguably than his Broncos earning SUNY Delhi’s first national championship outside of cross country and track and field when they won the 2017 USCAA Championship. The team cleared an 11-stroke deficit after day one to shoot a 295 on day two for a winning total of 604. Russell Herbert finished tied for first on the individual leaderboard.

Coach Arehart had at least one player compete for the NJCAA National Championship in each of his first three years, while maintaining a Division III national ranking over two of them. He and his team kept up the intensity when they moved to four-year athletics in 2001 after joining the NAIA. His players earned national championship berths in 2003 and 2005, with the latter team finishing runners-up at the Region IX and X Championships. Arehart’s guys went on to capture the Region X title in 2008. The program also joined the USCAA in 2014, finishing third at that year’s national championship, followed by a second place finish in 2015.

Originally from Elkton, Md., Arehart graduated from Shenandoah University in 1991 with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. As a student, he began work at the nearby Winchester Country Club in Winchester, Va., first as a shop assistant, then serving as First Assistant Golf Professional from 1991 to 1998. He earned his PGA membership from the course in 1996.

Arehart resides in Delhi, N.Y. with his wife Liz and four children – Ben, Libbie, Anna and Molly.
