Men's Tennis Sweeps VTSU Lyndon in Home Doubleheader

DELHI, N.Y. — The SUNY Delhi Men's Tennis team picked up a pair of impressive home wins against Vermont State Lyndon on Saturday, taking both matches by a 6-1 margin to open the spring season on a strong note.

In the morning match, Delhi swept all three doubles courts to set the tone. Nicholas VanHouten and Nolan Kleinasser won at No. 1, Devin Guerrieri and Luke Moloney took No. 2, and Benjamin Andersen and Gavin Bonczkowski closed it out at No. 3. The Broncos carried that momentum into singles, winning five of six positions. Kleinasser, Andersen, Moloney, and Sarthak Thapa all won in straight sets, while VanHouten picked up a forfeit win at No. 2. Guerrieri dropped a competitive three-setter at the top spot to Lyndon's Wesley McIntyre.

The afternoon rematch was more of the same. Delhi again swept the doubles points before winning five singles matches. Guerrieri bounced back with a straight-set win at No. 2, and VanHouten, Moloney, and Bonczkowski all won comfortably. Moses Rojas added a dominant 8-0 win at No. 6 in his debut. McIntyre again took No. 1 singles for Lyndon, providing the visitors' lone point of the day.

Delhi will look to build on the sweep Saturday as they host VTSU Johnson for a doublehader starting at 11 a.m.
