Broncos Edge Lesley in 53-41 NAC Win

DELHI, N.Y.Aniyah Boston recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds as the SUNY Delhi women's basketball team defeated Lesley 53-41 in a North Atlantic Conference game Sunday at Floyd L. Maines Arena.

The Broncos (3-12, 2-7 NAC) led 24-23 at halftime and outscored the Lynx (2-12, 1-8 NAC) 20-6 in the third quarter, capping off  the winningest week for the program since 2019. Delhi shot 32.8 percent (20-of-61) from the field, including 31.6 percent (6-of-19) from 3-point range, while holding Lesley to 21.1 percent (15-of-71) overall.

Jonnya Shelling added nine points on 3-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc for SUNY Delhi, while Sarah Gaetano had eight points and three assists. N'Dera Francis contributed four steals and four assists.

The Broncos forced 20 Lesley turnovers, converting them into 15 points, despite being outrebounded 55-47.

Leila Chisholm led Lesley with 16 points, and Alawnah Dunda finished with 10 points and 18 rebounds.

Delhi improved to 3-12 overall and 2-7 in conference play. The Broncos return to action Friday and Saturday against Maine-Farmington and Maine Maritime.
