Delhi, NY - The SUNY Delhi Broncos cross country teams hosted their annual Bronco Classic at the College Golf Course. The men's team won the event behind a strong finish from Latham Gielskie while the women placed second.
Gielske, a first year Bronco led the team with his second place overall finish completing the 5-kilometer course in 17:25.0. He was followed closely by a pack of teammates Austin Lafountin, Liam Codrey, James Moreau and Michael Lilly who placed fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh respectively giving the Broncos an easy win in the team scoring. Delhi totaled 20 points, well ahead of runner-up Cobleskills 41.
In the Women's race, the team was led by Amanda Intrieri, who was also second place overall in 20:45.3. Evie Eastman and Maria Heebner posted fourth and fifth place finishes for the team while Sofia Melone and Eden Carr rounded out the scoring for Delhi. The women placed second as a team with 30 points, just off of Cobleskills 25.
Next up for the team will be a trip to the Rowan Border Battle on October 18th.
