DELHI, N.Y. — The SUNY Delhi softball team dropped both ends of a North Atlantic Conference doubleheader at home to #20 Husson on Friday, falling 13-1 in five innings in game one before a 9-1 loss in the nightcap.

Game One: Husson 13, SUNY Delhi 1 (5 innings)

Delhi kept the game close through four innings, trailing 2-0 entering the fifth before Husson exploded for 11 runs in the final frame to end the contest by run rule. Morgan Curtis paced the Eagles with two hits and four RBI, while Emily Dunbar went 3-for-3 with two RBI. Husson starter Ana Lang struck out 11 over five innings of one-hit ball, with the lone Delhi run coming in the fifth on a Samantha Martin RBI groundout that scored Riley Martin. Angelina Dickel took the loss in the circle for Delhi.

Game Two: Husson 9, SUNY Delhi 1

Husson struck early again, putting up a run in the first on a Morgan Curtis RBI fielder's choice and adding four more in the second highlighted by a Curtis three-RBI single. Delhi got on the board in the fourth when Stephanie Huckabee doubled to right center and came around to score on a Carly Bernard RBI groundout. Husson tacked on insurance runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth to put the game out of reach. Curtis finished with five RBI on the day for the Eagles. Huckabee, Riley Martin, and Jaden Taylor each collected a hit for Delhi, and Alethea Ferrara took the loss across 3.1 innings of work.

Delhi falls to 9-18 on the season and returns to action Saturday at 10 a.m, hosting UMPI for senior recognition day.
