LYNDONVILLE, Vt. — The SUNY Delhi softball team turned in one of its most dominant days of the season Saturday, sweeping a North Atlantic Conference doubleheader at Vermont State Lyndon by combined scores of 12-0 and 24-0. Angelina Dickel tossed a five-inning no-hitter in game one, and Mikayla Wright followed with a five-inning shutout in the nightcap to complete a 36-run, no-run sweep at Skip Pound Complex.

Game One: SUNY Delhi 12, VTSU Lyndon 0 (5 innings)

Dickel was untouchable in the circle, retiring all but two Hornet batters across five innings of no-hit ball with four strikeouts and two walks to improve to 5-7. Delhi opened the scoring in the second on a Grace Sperry two-RBI double to left field that scored Riley Martin and Carolina Watson, and Sperry came around to score on a Dickel double-play grounder to make it 3-0. The Broncos added three more in the third behind a Riley Martin two-RBI double to center and a Sperry RBI single, then put the game away with a five-run fourth that featured a Stephanie Huckabee two-RBI double and a Riley Martin RBI fielder's choice. Lauren Laferriere added a run-scoring double in the fifth to cap the run-rule victory. Sperry finished 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI, Riley Martin added a double and three RBI, and Huckabee chipped in a double and two RBI.

Game Two: SUNY Delhi 24, VTSU Lyndon 0 (5 innings)

Wright matched Dickel's effort in the nightcap, scattering four hits over five scoreless innings while striking out five and walking none to improve to 3-4. The offense was relentless from the jump, putting up five in the first and then erupting for 13 in the second to put the contest out of reach. Stephanie Huckabee delivered the inning's biggest hit, a three-RBI triple to left field, while Riley Martin, Sperry, and Julian Ponce all added run-scoring extra-base hits. Delhi tacked on five more in the third behind a Natalie Amadon two-RBI single, a Sperry RBI triple, and a Ponce RBI single. Huckabee finished 2-for-2 with a double, a triple, four RBI, and three runs scored. Sperry went 3-for-3 with a double, triple, and two RBI to score four times. Ponce added a 3-for-3 day with three RBI, and the Broncos collected 22 hits as a team.

Delhi moves to 12-19 overall and 5-7 in conference play with the sweep, and returns to action Sunday for a doubleheader at VTSU Johnson.
